Our first general meeting of 2025 is coming up this Wednesday, January 8th at 7:00pm PST and will be held via Zoom.
As we approach the end of 2024, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your support and dedication to our club. It’s been a year of growth, camaraderie, and memories, and none of this would have been possible without the commitment of our amazing officers and members.
First and foremost, I am thrilled to announce the newly elected leadership team for 2025. Please join me in congratulating:

- Jaz, Secretary
- Link, Treasurer
As your newly elected President, I want to express that I have a lot to learn, and I remain committed to a growth mindset throughout this journey. While I bring a fresh perspective, I deeply value the wisdom and experience of each of you. Together, I believe we can continue to build on the strong foundation we’ve established. I am also indebted to the profound love and meaning the Bulldog community has brought to my life, and I know you share that same bond.
In 2025, I will be championing three key initiatives:
Driving Membership – Expanding the capacity of the club to ensure we continue to grow and thrive.
Revitalizing Our Shows – Enhancing the visibility, registration, and participation in our specialty show.
Bridging Opportunities with Bulldog Rescues – Strengthening our outreach and increasing community knowledge by working closely with Bulldog rescues to raise awareness and create meaningful connections.

Sand to Sea Information
The premium list for the Sand to Sea Non-Sporting group shows and the two Bulldog Club of America, Division III specialty shows can be retrieved through the link below. These shows will be held January 2 and 3, 2025 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, California. There are additional shows over the weekend on January 4 and 5, 2025 and that premium list can be found at jbradshaw.com. A few highlights:
- The Palm Springs/Indio weekend includes a total of 6 shows with 2 on Thursday, 2 on Friday and 1 on both Saturday and Sunday. On Thursday and Friday, there are 3 breeder-judges (Jeff and Winn Ryman and Sara Black from Texas with her first assignment) and 1 popular all-breed judge (Janet Allen) on Thursday. Also, the Saturday judge for the Kennel Club of Palm Springs show is Amanda Ashley, a French Bulldog breeder who was very close friends with bulldoggers Abe and Suzy Segal. The other KCPS judge is Lesley Hiltz, who is a respected Bulldog judge in her own right. So six shows in four days with lots of respected judges!
- For the first time in several years, Division III is also offering a sweepstakes on Thursday with breeder judge Cindy Carlson from Texas. If you have dogs under 24 months of age, please enter them in the sweepstakes! We want Cindy to get a good entry. The entry fee for sweepstakes is only $20 and remember you can enter sweepstakes if your dog is under two years of age and isn’t a champion. Another new wrinkle with this sweepstakes. The Club will retain 25% of the entry fees to offset the cost of ribbons for the 2 specialties. The other 75% will be paid 70% to the Best in Sweeps and 30% to the Best Opposite in Sweeps. Let’s assume we get 20 entries in the sweepstakes. The Best in Sweeps would get $210 and the Best Opposite would get $90! Enter those young dogs please!
- We will be having the annual party at my house in Palm Springs on Saturday, January 4th. We will have some fundraising for the 2028 BCA National Show that night, including a return of the SPEEDBOATS in the pool. All bulldoggers are welcome!
- As Sand to Sea Show Chair, Link has received complaints about the cost of hotel rooms in the desert, so for the first time Sand to Sea has reserved a block of reasonably priced motel rooms at the Motel 6 in Palm Desert right off the 10 freeway. See page 18 of the premium list for details. These rooms will be offered to Sand to Sea exhibitors exclusively on a first come, first serve basis. Please contact Link Newcomb if you want a reservation at that motel.
- As an entry incentive, Sand to Sea is offering Division III a rebate for the first time. If the entry for either Division specialty is high enough for a major in both sexes, then Sand to Sea will pay the Division an additional $2 per entry for qualifying specialty.
- Sand to Sea if offering junior showmanship for no entry fee on Thursday and Friday. If you know a junior, ask them to enter because the Best Junior on Thursday will receive a $1,000 scholarship!
- Please forward the premium list link to other bulldog friends who are not members of PCBC.
- Entries close early because of the holidays. You must get your entries in before December 11th. Don’t miss the deadline.
- Please support the Club by supporting these shows. They are always fun and we expect majors at every show.
