General Information

Thank you to everyone who came out for last night’s Sanction B and Fun Match! It was a small but meaningful gathering and a great reminder of the importance of showing up and staying connected.

A huge thank you to Victor, whose entries and involvement are deeply appreciated.

While we didn’t meet quorum to hold an official meeting, Cristian, Richard, and I used some time to discuss a few important club matters.

I’ve documented our conversation in informal meeting notes and will include those items on the agenda when we reconvene in September to ensure continuity and follow-up.

A special shoutout to Jazmin, our incredible secretary, for her ongoing leadership and organization.

We’re also grateful to Lalaine for her dedication and effort in making our Specialty Show a success.

Over the next three months, I’ll be reaching out to each of you to connect personally, whether to talk about shows you’ll be attending, areas you’d like to support, or ways we can bring new members into the club.

Your voice matters, and this is a great time to get more involved and help shape what’s ahead for PCBC.

Our next general meeting will be in September, and I’ll share the in-person location as we get closer to the date.

Until then, I hope you enjoy a restful and fun summer with your families (and your bulldogs). Thank you for being part of this club.

Key Initiatives

This year, one of PCBC’s key initiatives is to educate and clarify the difference between AKC registration and the Bulldog breed standard—because it’s confusing.

Many new owners assume that if a Bulldog is AKC-registered, it must meet the standard—but that’s not necessarily true. AKC is a registry, not a quality control system, which means Bulldogs with non-standard colors can still be registered but cannot compete in AKC conformation shows.

The Bulldog Club of America (BCA) standard outlines the ideal structure, temperament, and health of the breed, and ethical breeders follow it to preserve those qualities.

As a show club, PCBC follows the BCA breed standard, which means we promote and showcase Bulldogs that align with those guidelines.

However, PCBC is more than just a show club—it’s a community of Bulldog enthusiasts. We welcome new members regardless of their dog’s color or background. While non-standard Bulldogs cannot compete in sanctioned conformation events, there are plenty of other activities to participate in, such as supporting Southern California Bulldog Rescue and the Bulldog Beauty Show.

Owning a non-standard Bulldog does not limit your involvement—if you love Bulldogs and are eager to learn, you will always have a place here.
